Dr. Toygar Toydemir

Dr. Toygar TOYDEMİR was born in 1976. He graduated from Gaziantep High School for Science in 1994 and started his education at Ege University, Faculty of Medicine in the same year. After completing the six-year medical undergraduate program, he was appointed to Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, where he completed his Specialty in General Surgery from 2001 to 2006. Following his obligatory medical service at Erzurum Palandöken State Hospital, he completed his military service at Adana Military Hospital, where he served as the clinic chief in 2008 and 2009. Married, and father of two children, Toygar Toydemir is fluent in English and has an intermediate level in Italian.

From the first years of his residency onwards, Dr. Toydemir focused on laparoscopic surgery, went on to collaborate with numerous prominent figures of this field both overseas and in Turkey, and received training on advanced laparoscopic surgery. From 2009 until 2011, he worked with Prof. Mehmet Ali Yerdel, analyzing thousands of reflux patients and performing hundreds of reflux surgery operations. In 2010, he passed the written and oral stages of the Board exam by the Turkish Society of Surgery, and received his Board certificate. From 2011 until 2013, he collaborated with Prof. Koray Tekin, a pioneer of laparascopic obesity surgery in Turkey, and performed over 800 bariatric operations with him. In 2013, at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, he worked on revisional bariatric surgery with Dr. Mitchell Roslin, a worldwide expert on obesity surgery and had the chance to monitor the latest developments in the USA in bariatric surgery. In 2014, he passed the file examination and oral exam stages of the associate professorship examination organized by Higher Education Council, and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in General Surgery. In recent years, Toydemir has gained extensive experience in reflux and obesity surgery and continues his studies on these issues.
